Our upstairs angels

Four days before Sadie was born, we got a new tenant. Then, the day before she was born, we got another. Her timing was just impeccable, to wait until her grandparents were here and settled, ready to take care of her big brother while mommy went about the business of birthing her, ready to fix meals for the whole family three times a day, ready to clean and entertain and hold babes and generally make life over the past two weeks a far easier feat than it would have been in their absence. I'm glad Sadie came when she did, and I'm so glad we had our upstairs angels looking out for us before, during, and most especially afterwards.

If the attention they'd been lavishing on Jack wasn't enough, they got him a very special gift that I think he will use every day now, or at least every day we try to go somewhere. Jack is not very willing to surrender to the stroller anymore, and he has lately become unpredictable when walking under his own command, so the little radio flyer fire engine they brought him seems like the perfect solution. And he loves pushing it almost more than he loves riding it.

Sadly, our angels are leaving us tomorrow. They'll be back again soon, Bill especially, since work will bring him here several times a month now, but these past two weeks have been extra special. And we are very thankful to have had them.

Thank you, thank you Bill and Melissa. What a wonderful gift you've given Becky and Danny. I'm so glad you are close enough to see the kids as often as you do!!
