Baby Sadie is 2/3rds of the way through her first year! And as such, I owe you the next installment of Sadie week by week (the 2nd 17 weeks), but it may take me a while to get around to processing that video, so in the meantime, here is Sadie at 8 months old.
It is not infrequent for Sadie to laugh hysterically at nothing at all. I hope she never grows out of that. So far, I think it's safe to say she enjoys life. She enjoys eating, she enjoys sleeping, she enjoys her cat, and she really enjoys her brother. She's pretty much only upset when a) I'm not stuffing food in her mouth fast enough and/or I take away something she's choking on or I'm worried she'll soon be choking on, b) she needs to sleep, c) the cat runs away, or d) Jack won't let her try to stuff one of his animals down her throat and gag herself. She is nowhere near crawling, and I couldn't care less because I'm really not looking forward to those months between not-crawling and walking when I have to keep my floors extra clean. She is still saying "ba ba" and "da da" a lot, sometimes while waving and/or making eye contact with daddy. She is much more of a daredevil than I remember Jack being at this age (or even now), loving to hang upside down and do flips. She is absolutely delightful first thing in the morning or after nap, cooing and squealing and honest to goodness batting her eyes at you. She flaps her arms when she is excited (like about food coming near her mouth) and is extremely proficient at swatting away something she does not want (like a washcloth coming near her mouth). After four months of being able to roll over but only doing it very occasionally, she can no longer be laid down without rolling and appears to be trying to suggest that I change her diaper while she's on her tummy. And she's developing a wicked curl right in the middle of her forehead that kind of sticks up like a mohawk, which I kind of love and think she will probably hate once she's old enough to be concerned about such things as the way her hair falls, unless she is never concerned about such things, which is a prayer I'm sure every mother has for her daughter.
It is fun to have Sadie Grace around. She brings all kinds of grace to our lives.

cute video -- I guess she was laughing at Danny's antics?
No, this was one of those instances where she was just giggling for her own amusement. I think Danny was smiling at her off camera too, but not doing anything extraordinary. Sometimes a girl's just got some laughs to unload.
