It turns out I did take some photos last week, so here's a brief glimpse of what we were up to. Jack has made fast friends with the little boy across the street, and has enjoyed several play-dates with him (which is for mommy a wonderful reprieve from playing trains while simultaneously trying to breastfeed). Sadie has done a lot of sleeping. So has Julius, in sunbeams, wherever he can find them.
Then yesterday when Jack woke up from nap, I decided it was high time for a family portrait. I can't believe we hadn't taken one yet. It took quite a few to get a decent one, when you combine Danny's tendency to not look at the camera with Jack's new "smile" that is so awful it's almost funny except when I realize that if I'm not careful this is the only way I'm going to remember him at this age.
(But if you can't beat him, join him, right?)
And finally, this is the one I'm most proud of; sometimes you can actually capture pure motherly bliss on film.
(Also, birth photos have now been added to the Welcome Sadie Grace post.)
