Jack experienced his first of Minnesota's 10,000 finest today. What a California boy, to have been in the ocean and a pool before he finally made it to fresh water. Thus far the water has been too cold to do more than dip his feet in (although the lake allowed for much more prolonged dippage than the Pacific Ocean), but I think there will be some more serious submersion later on this week, given the forecast and his cousins' proclivity for swimming. We have been imagining Jack becoming quite a swimmer himself someday, since his tummy time has devolved into flailing and frog-kicks that look like he'd be more comfortable in the water than beached on his stomach on dry land. He delighted in the splashing caused by his frog-kicks in the lake, and we took some video of it, so that they can play it on the behind-the-scenes footage when Jack becomes the next Michael Phelps.

cute video -- now we just have to wait until it gets warm out in CA for you to enjoy the ocean!
