Opening day

Today was not April Fools Day, at least not around here. No jokes were made, no tricks were played. No, today was Opening Day. And around here, baseball is no joke. Danny dressed Jack in his baseball jersey for the occasion and spent a good chunk of the morning teaching Jack the intricacies of the sport. Jack now knows all the important vocabulary: "Baseball bat!" "Baseball glove!" Baseball ball!"

And he is fascinated! He watched his hometown A's play his grandad's team the Mariners at a sports bar tonight and I have never seen him sit so nicely at a dinner table. (And he ate well, too! Just kept watching the game and letting us stuff food in his face.) I think sports are one big game of chase to him, which explains why he likes them. The amazing thing to me is that it can hold his attention for so long.

Sadie's reaction is rather more like mine.

Yay!.... (snore).

cute photos -- I'm impressed that Jack understands the idea of the game! Have to admit I'm with you on the appreciation of it though -- snore.
