Family haircut day!

We all needed a haircut. Danny hadn't had one since our trip to Cannon Beach in August.  I hadn't had one since before we decided to run the marathon. (I know this because it was the hairdresser I had for my last haircut that inspired me to run marathons again.) Jack had never had one, and was starting to wear his hair over his ears like an elf or a NASCAR fan. So we decided to take care of it all at once, and got Jack a haircut from a hipster salon that I'm sure had never cut the hair of a ten-month-old before. He was a little concerned to have those big shiny sharp things so close to his head, but he held it together pretty well. And I saved a lock for the baby book. His first haircut! Jack, you're growing up so fast! And your hair is growing even faster than the rest of you!

First haircut! That's a biggie! My grandmother cut my hair when I was little, and apparently I had grasped the problem of the scissors because when she snipped my hair I said, "Ouch!"

Is that single picture of you a before or after shot, B? I want a better picture!

Hey, too funny, I got my hair cut on the 1st too! The first time in 27 weeks (they actually keep track at the salon I go to)!

it's a before shot. I didn't like the after, that is the sad post-script to this story. But it will grow out. It always does. :)
