Grandma and Nana

Jack got to spend the weekend with his grandma and his nana, while his grandpa attended his 40th college reunion and his mom and dad attended a reunion that wasn't theirs at all.

2009-1024-102009-1024-12

(PS- Danny and I were sitting around saying to each other, "40th reunion?? That's more years than I am old!!!" and then we thought about it for a second and realized, well, duh. It would be weirder if it were the other way. It just is kind of crazy to be almost 30 I guess.)

Jack actually got to spend quite a bit of the weekend with his grandpa, too, his mommy just wasn't so johnny-on-the-spot with the camera during those times. (Sorry Dad!) But he entertained all three of his elders with his speedy crawling (which he was still not doing the last time my parents saw him), his pulling himself up by their pant legs, his squeals of laughter, his one-finger piano playing, his pointing at birds and other objects of interest, his little caveman sounds of curiosity that he makes when he points at objects of interest, his clapping (a new development as of a few days ago), his high-fiving (a brand-new development, I think his grandpa taught him this), his flapping his arms in excitement just like his cousin Matthew used to, and his general delightfulness. He was great fun this weekend, especially considering he's had a nasty cold for the past two weeks that he just can't kick, and he is not a fan of having his nose wiped. I am not a fan of staying up all night listening to the poor kid cough, either. But he sure is happy during the day. I wish I had his enthusiasm for life even in times of strife.

Great pictures of Jack with Grandma (Sue) and Nana (Arlene)! Jack is such a cutie and has such rosy cheeks and a cute smile!

Does he remember Grandma and Grandpa or is he just super friendly with everyone? I can't wait to see him again! I think we're going to have to have a early birthday party for him when he comes to visit us in November - we can celebrate 11 months instead of 12!

I love that picture of Jack with his Nana! He is just darling. Look at those dimples and blue eyes. I could just pick him up out of the picture and hug him. Your Grandmother looks great in that picture, too. I hope we can see him in person when you are here.

I think Jack is one of the happiest kids I've known, and I hope he stays like that. He is such fun, and you are so lucky. I note a strong family resemblance between us in the picture -- round pink cheeks.
