A is for apple...

Jack has a favorite book. It's the ABC book that my fabulous and talented berkeley girls quilted for him in anticipation of his birth. He loves it so much we read it every night before he goes to bed. He loves it so much that I made up a song to sing along to it. It goes, "A, B, C, D, E, F, G..."

Just kidding. It goes like this:

A is for apple
B is for bug
C is for kitty-cat that sits on a rug
D is for ducky that goes quack-quack
E is for elephant, my sweet little Jack
F is for fish that swim in the pool
G is for ghost or for goblin or for ghoul
H is for holes that you stick your fingers through
I is for ice cream, for me and for you
J's for Jack's Jet that zooms through the sky
K is for kite that you might want to fly
L is for lamb (baa-baa), M's for moon
or maybe for monkey (eee-ee-ee-oo-ooo)
N is for nest with an egg or two or three
O is for orange, and peekaboo is P
Q's for Quixote, he's off to save the day
R is for revolucion ¡viva Che!
S is for sun, that makes the plants grow
T is for tree-- a tree's a plant, you know
U's for umbrella that keeps out the rain
V's for volcano, she's blown her top again
W's for whale and the water and the waves
X is for x-ray, your insides on display
Y is for yams, and now we're almost done
Z is for zipper-- now, wasn't that so much fun??

Where's the video of the alphabet song...?. I remember how you used to make up new verses to existing melodies. Jack will enjoy your creativity there, since he is such a music lover already.
