Still ahead of the curve
All I got for my four month birthday was a cold. My first cold, complete with congestion and coughing and virulence (I managed to get mommy sick too!). But it's not as bad as it sounds, because it got me out of my shots at my doctor's appointment today. Getting a cold for your birthday is better than getting stuck with a needle! I know I only really put them off until next week, but hey, a kid's got to take what he can get, okay? So the check-up celebrating my four months of this earth was all glory, no guts. I continue to astound doctors and nurses with my amazing physique. I am off the charts, as they say (actually, technically, I am still on "the chart", as you can see, I am the X on the chart to the left, but well ahead of the curve, as they also say). Despite my sniffles and snuffles, I had a great time tonight. I was the happiest guy, so happy I just skipped right through unhappy hour (regularly scheduled for 7pm). I was in such a good mood, mommy and daddy let me stay up with them and play, and I had lots of fun grabbing dad's face and flirting with mommy. Daddy read me "On the Day You Were Born" and I think that is a very nice birthday tradition. Happy Birthday to me!

What beautiful blue eyes you have! Here's what I need Mommy to do: pose you like that picture she has of herself at nine months old (on your tummy with you head held up)and then post both of them here for us to see. I can't believe how much you look like her!
Jack, you are getting so pretty -- I mean handsome. Sorry to hear you are sick, but babies get well fast, don't they? Not their mommies and grandmommies though.
