Lazy Thursday

There were so many things on my list to get done today, but it's already 3pm and at some point you have to wonder how much you can squeeze into the last few hours before your husband gets home, or whether you should just call it a mulligan and try again tomorrow. And blog, in the meantime.

I am proud to report that after several weeks of wondering if it was real and several more of knowing but not being able to document it, I FINALLY captured Jack's laughter (and a little of his talking) for those of you who haven't had the pleasure of hearing it yet. The secret, I now realize, is to hide behind Danny and have him make funny faces so Jack doesn't get camera shy. It really is amazing how that kid shuts up as soon as he sees me take out the little silver box.

And in other news, because one blog (and four twitter feeds) isn't self-indulgent enough, we started another one! It is called Growing the Good, and will be about our (mis)adventures in the garden and the kitchen and, who knows, maybe even someday the farm! I can hear my dad shaking his head. (He's shaking it so loudly I can hear it all the way from Minnesota.) "Maybe if you spent less time on the internet and more on the PhD, you'd be done by now!" An interesting theory, certainly. But I guess we'll never know, will we.

Thomas loves this video. He has sat quietly in my lap for ten minutes, watching the "baby". Now, he's mad that he can't see the baby. I need it to loop so I don't have to keep hitting play!
