And here is the nursery/office, or as much of it as I could fit in the frame. Yes, that is the crib in the middle of the closet. But it's one of those sliding doors closets so you can't get to the middle of it where the doors overlap anyway.
Funny story about the desk, actually. It was a bit of an adventure getting it in the house. A bit of an adventure is a bit of an understatement. Danny measured and decided since there was one inch of clearance on either side, it should be no problem getting it up the stairs. But when he and Jeremy and the downstairs tenant (bless his heart) got it up to the landing, it became apparent that one inch on either side was not enough to rotate it around to turn the corner. There was some seriously questionable maneuvering that took place over several minutes, and I was sure that a leg was going to go through a window or a wall (and I wasn't really sure which was worse, since Danny had already plastered over a fair share of cracks in the wall and the window was one of those original old-timey kinds that I've only recently discovered are impossible to find and stupidly expensive to replicate). Miraculously, and we are indeed talking a miracle on the order of fishes and loaves, the desk made it up here and here it will stay. Even if we don't. Danny has declared that the desk is a permanent part of the upstairs now, and if we ever rent out this unit, we will rent the desk along with it. So there.

Thank you for answering all my questions. Now I'm happy.
It says "JACK" on the four photos, but I don't understand the significance of the separate frames and what the letters actually are. Please explain more -- or perhaps that is not the very special birthday present...
Very impressive work on your space...it looks great! Our third son, Jonathan, was the lucky one to live in a closet for a few years due to lack of space. We took the sliding doors off, squeezed a crib mattress onto the floor, and created a very cute little space that was all his own. He thought it was fabulous!!!
